Pomona Bistro and Wine Bar has been recognized in Florida Trend’s December 2011 issue as a Best New Restaurant winner.
Selected from among thousands of Florida restaurants, Pomona’s refreshed Franco-Californian palate and polish scored big points. Today’s “most exciting and successful new restaurants put food forward and downplay formality. Today’s diners, the young especially, want foods assembled from carefully sourced ingredients, hand-made, even lumpy and sometimes burned in the fire, with slow-cooked sauces and ethnic spices.”
Pomona Bistro and Wine Bar fits the bill with locally-sourced ingredients in an ever-evolving menu handcrafted every day by chefs Ryan Boeve and Arthur Lopes who emphasize the flavors of Florida’s nuanced seasons.
Guests can start with a bowl of olives, warmed nuts or a charcuterie plate of duck salami or rabbit rillettes, then roast poussin and chocolate pot du creme. A full-time sommelier is on hand to suggest wine pairings that complement the food selections, as well as patron’s tastes and budget.
